Whether you are looking for a bit of history in a splendid manor house, gorgeous Cornish gardens, entertainment or an adventure park, we have plenty on offer here in Cornwall.

  1. Prideaux Place (0.5 miles)

    Living history on the beautiful North Cornish coast. Since its completion in 1592 the same family have lived in this charming Elizabethan manor. Take a tour of the house or stroll in the tranquil grounds overlooking the ancient deer park. Our closest historic house and an international film location. Lots of Cornish history, tour the house followed by a lovely cream tea. Open Spring and Summer. Good when it is chucking it down!

  2. The Cornish Bird of Prey Centre (6.4 miles)

    Very good local attraction, open all year round with a nice little café for lunch.

  3. The Lost Gardens of Heligan (26 miles)

    You can buy tickets at here to fast-track you in – and at a discounted price. Open all year from 10 am daily. You will need at least a day to roam for miles. Not at its best in January or February.

  4. Camel Valley Vineyard (14 miles)

    One of the finest vineyards in the country, producing some of the best wines in the world! Guided and ‘Grand’ tours, weekdays from 1st April to 31st October. Tastings, special events.

  5. Trevibban Mill Wine Tours (3 miles)

    Five minutes drive from Padstow in North Cornwall, a trip to Trevibban Mill is a must for anyone visiting the area. The stylish wine bar and tasting room enjoys stunning views across the valley and is the perfect place for lunch or simply relaxing and sampling a glass or two of award winning Cornish wine. OR Join them on Sunday (at 12pm) for the very popular Grand Tour of the vineyard, orchards and lakeside followed by a visit to the winery. Afterwards taste 7 of our wines with lunch in our beautiful South facing Tasting Room, with views across the valley.

  6. Blue Reef Aquarium (13 miles)

    Close-up views of exotic species, sharks and turtles, coral reef display and feeding sessions. Open Daily from 10.00am.

  7. The Eden Project (18 miles)

    You can buy tickets at here to fast-track you in – and at a discounted price. Open all year round. Fascinating place! But can get crowded. Ask for best times to go. It takes about minimum 4 hours to go round.

  8. The National Maritime Museum Cornwall (35 miles)

    Open all year round. Good family attraction for a couple of hours. Nice little restaurants out on the pedestrian precinct by the entrance for lunch.

  9. The Lobster Hatchery (1 mile)

    The National Lobster Hatchery is a charitable organization and was opened in August 2000. The organisation is a marine Conservation, research and education charity that focuses its efforts on the European lobster. It is a fascinating visit for all the family especially on a wet day.

  10. The Minack Theatre (56 miles)

    Open all year 9.30 am to 5.30 pm April to Sept. 10 am to 4 pm October to March.

  11. Land’s End (56 miles)

    Open daily from 10 am  Many Family attraction – a bit of a theme park if you see what I mean!

  12. Newquay Zoo (13 miles)

    Open all year. Conservation-Education-Entertainment.

  13. Lappa Valley Steam Railway (16 miles)

    Open daily 27th March to 29th September.  Ring to check times of trains.

    Includes canoes & paddle boats, crazy golf and putting, pedal cars, historic mine engine house, picnic areas, brick path maze, children’s play area, play castle, extensive country walks, gift shop, licensed coffee shop, coin operated bikes, nine hole golf course.  Dogs on leads.

  14. Goonhilly Earth Station (44 miles)

    Open from Easter. The largest satellite station on the planet.  Guided tours, film show, connected earth gallery, surf the NET, virtual image booth, operate a satellite dish, café.  Children’s play area, gift shop.

  15. Paradise Park & The World Parrot Trust (40 miles)

    Open every day at 10am.

    Includes parrot jungle, tropical house, play area, otter sanctuary, Australian aviaries, Victorian walled garden, red squirrels and red pandas, mini train, picnic area, café and gift shop.

  16. Bodmin & Wenford Steam Railway (15 miles)

    Steam at its best: For those of you with a particularly keen interest in trains, the Bodmin & Wenford Railway offers you the opportunity to not just watch and photograph them, but also the chance to drive one of our locomotives and experience life as a Driver for the day! Come and enjoy the thrill of a lifetime or realise that childhood dream! The Bodmin Railway Preservation Society (BRPS) is the principal volunteer support organisation of the Railway. The BRPS was formed in 1984 by local businessmen and railway enthusiasts keen to preserve Bodmin’s railway heritage and to see the Bodmin branch re-opened as a tourist and leisure attraction.   17. Lanhydrock House National Trust (18 miles)

    A perfect Cornish country house and estate, with the feel of a wealthy but unpretentious family home. The kitchens, nurseries and servants’ quarters offer a thrilling glimpse into life ‘below stairs’, while the spacious dining room and bedrooms are truly and deeply elegant. The house is set in wooded parkland of 1,000 acres and encircled by a garden of rare shrubs and trees. There are activities throughout the year.

  18. Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm (24 miles)

    Free entry to site, free tastings, tractor rides, guided tours, friendly farm animals, restaurant, farm shop.

  19. Cornwall Pearl Treasure Park (31 miles)

    Is part of the World Pearl group, who’s knowledge and experience make them one of the leading pearl specialists in the country. Every pearl is graded on the World Pearl valuation chart & must meet strict criteria before being presented in Cornwall Pearls showroom. A complimentary Tour is provided for all our visitors. At Cornwall Pearl there is fun for everyone.

  20. Trevarno Estate Gardens & The Nationals Museum of Gardening (42 miles)

    Open every day 10.30 am to 5 pm.  Admission £4.50 for adults £1.50 for children

    Part disabled access.  Indoor Fountain Garden Conservatory, Plant Sales, Craft Workshops and Sales. Refreshments, dogs on leads.

    Beautiful Victorian and Georgian gardens, extensive collection of rare shrubs and trees.  Numerous garden features and follies.  Follow the progress of major restoration and conservation projects.  Walled gardens, woodland walks and abundant wildlife.

  21. Camel Creek Adventure Park (5 miles)

    For all the family. A vibrant and welcoming visitor destination year-round, uniquely interpreting the legends of the area and famous for delivering great adventures and days out for the whole family.

At the back of the Victorian part of Woodlands Country House, we have re-designed the conservatory, the two ground-floor room into an open-plan living space with kitchen and sitting room and small private terrace, and new stairs to two en-suite double rooms.
